Risks to an unborn child

The Unborn child also has the risk from their mother during her diabetes in the womb.

These risks include:-

  • Macrosomia:- it is a condition in which the growth of baby imbalances and baby grows too large because of high insulin. This condition increases the risk of injury during birth.
  • Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar can develop in the baby after birth which in future changes into diabetes.
  • Jaundice is the yellowish discoloration on the skin during birth.
